People's Climate March

The drums beat loudly, group leaders led chants, and the people walked hand in hand, side by side. I walked all around the march: mingling, giving out t-shirts, giving kisses to news reporters, walking ahead of the entire group. It was an invigorating of a kind. Everybody who participated on September 21, 2014 as part of the 400,000 crowd, was part of something greater than themselves. An idea in itself, that many of us rarely think about.

It was the first march that I've ever been to. As soon as I was in the middle of everything, I realized how much energy and excitement was in the air. People very rarely get together for one cause, at such a scale. I felt an urge to grab a megaphone and lead everybody with one unified chant.
